Havant & South Downs College has worked with employers to create a brand-new apprenticeship for the creative and digital sector. The Junior Content Producer standard is for those working in creative design, web development, social media, film editing and marketing.
The flexible approach allows the apprentice to specialise in areas that support their work whilst developing a wide portfolio of transferable skills. This programme is suited to creative businesses as well as those employing creatives in non-creative sectors e.g a marketing role in any sector.
The apprentice will complete projects targeted to different creative and digital skills. This will include executing ideas and designs appropriate for their specialism, including looking at SEO and marketing campaigns.
The college day includes a flexible approach to live project briefs, with dedicated time to use the professional design suite here at HSDC. All of this is supported by the work of our excellent assessor in the work place, Helen Read.
Helen said “it is great to be part of the development of the apprentice’s skills and helping them become a valuable resource for their employers”. She added “creative apprentices add so much to their employer’s business”.
HSDC’s own apprentice Lizz said: “Training in the HSDC Design Studio has equipped me with all the necessary skills for a career in the industry.”
