Paul Spencer founded the network while studying for his PhD at the University of Winchester. He works for the Winchester City Centre Partnership and he is interested in business, cities, creativity, culture and economy.
Jennifer Anyan is a Principal Lecturer in the School of Art, Design and Fashion at Southampton Solent University. She is interested in the construction of styled image, identity and notions of the gaze in the context of fashion.
Dr Daniel Ashton is a Lecturer and MA Pathway Leader in Global Media Management at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. He is interested in the creative economy and patterns and places of creative work.
Caroline Barfoot is Head of Employability and Student Enterprise at Southampton Solent University. Her research interests include enterprise education, digital and creative industries, advertising and digital marketing.
Dr Toby Bennett is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Southampton Solent University, with professional and academic expertise in the music industry. He is interested in the changing world of work and the knowledge economy.
Chris Buckingham is a crowdfunding specialist and author of several books on the topic. He is a PhD student at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, an international speaker and a guest lecturer for several universities.
Dr Hong Bui joined the network while she was working at the University of Southampton. She is now an Associate Professor in Higher Education Management for the School of Management at the University of Bath.
Dr Roberta Comunian is a Lecturer in Cultural and Creative Industries at King’s College London. Her research interests include creative industries, cultural policy, creative economy and higher education.
Dr Carol Ekinsmyth is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Portsmouth. She is interested in human geography and entrepreneurship in the context of family life, parenting and work-life balance.
Dr Mark Eyles is a Principal Lecturer in the School of Creative Technologies at the University of Portsmouth. He is a practice-based games design researcher within the Advanced Games Research Group.
Charles Freeman is the Coordinator of Creative Network South and Director of Charles Freeman Projects. He is interested in creative industries, cultural planning, regeneration and economic development.
Dr Brian Hracs is a Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Southampton. His research interests include the spatial dynamics of entrepreneurs and intermediaries within the creative economy.
Steve Jones joined the network while he was working as a Business Associate in the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth. He is now Head of Fundraising for ORCA.
Lisa Mann is Academic Leader for Re:So (Retail Solent) at Southampton Solent University. Her research interests include enterprise education, work-based learning, fashion management and retail design.
Steven Northam is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Winchester and Company Director at SN Technologies alongside IncuHive. He is interested in business start-up, incubation and innovation in business.
Dr Suzanne Reimer is an Associate Professor in Geography at the University of Southampton. She is interested in the gendering of creativity, craft and design labour as well as the role of design in commodity networks.
Dr Alexandra Reynolds is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Southampton Solent University and one of the network’s coordinators. She is exploring critical and meaningful uses of digital co-creation in the cultural sector.
Dr John Richardson is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Winchester. He is also an experienced consultant with a passion for knowledge transfer between universities and business.
Elaine Rust is a PhD student at the University of Southampton and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth. She is interested in marketing and the role of cultural events in town centre vitality.
Philip Turner is a PhD student at the University of Southampton. He is interested in cities and the impact of urban design as well as interventions to promote reinvigoration of secondary and tertiary high streets.
